Sitting Pretty…

The new thing that I tried this week was… Dinner at the El Encanto!!!

This restaurant is on the Rivera in Santa Barbara. It is fancy and gorgeous.

They have a chandelier type of thing in part of the restaurant and it really draws the eye. They also had many different areas to sit which is nice because there are many different people! The front of the building is also very nice. There is a fountain in the center that is just the perfect accent there. It isn’t so much that it would be overwhelming to the rest of the building, but it is beautiful.

I went to dinner with my Aunt and Uncle that came to town to visit and with my mom. The service was great and everyone was really on top of things. The food was also excellent. I got this crab leg soup type of thing. I was kind of confused about what it was except the fact that it was good! I don’t usually get spicy foods so it was intense, but very well done. It also came with this rice cake type of thing. I had never had anything like it before, but the taste was nice and the presentation was beautiful.

For dessert, I got a raspberry sorbet with berries. It was so tasty! They brought it really quickly and I must say that it was one of the best sorbets that I have ever had.

The people there were also nice and engaged. They didn’t just focus on the serving aspect, but they also paid attention to the social aspect of things. All the people that worked there were very kind and engaged in conversation.

The only downside was on me. I didn’t know that is was a really fancy place… so I went in a way too casual outfit. No one said anything or made weird looks or anything, but everyone else looked very put together and dressed up. At least I will know for next time!

Overall, I think that the El Encanto is a great place. There is great service, food, decoration, and the many seating options (obviously most important). I would definitely go there again, but I bit more dressed up. Have you been to the El Encanto, and if so how do you feel about it?

Till next time…
